stories

Thijs Moens Hello, I am Thijs Moens. I am naturally curious and observant and I thrive on telling complex stories. Oh, and I never stop seeking out on new opportunities.
My goal is to create insights and meaningful content that can help people understand the world a little bit better.

My story

I always loved stories and research. I’m inquisitive by nature and I can have an interest in almost anything. This is why I studied Journalism and pictured a future of being a traditional newspaper editor somewhere in a small suburb. But it kind of felt meh. I yearned to learn more, yearned to learn something different.
That’s where the internet comes in. I still remember my father coming home with a computer. A big, bulky, noisy thing that worked with very large floppies and MS-DOS as the operating system. The endless times I typed C:\>. The spark I was missing ignited the instant I clicked play on my first Macromedia Flash tutorial video.
Since then I have spent hours figuring out how the web was made and how I could make things on the web. It was only natural that I landed various jobs in web development. I loved it.
Fast forward to today, those passion comes together, a combination of research, storytelling, programming, journalism and internet. It incorporates creativity and problem-solving and I'm allowed to dive into unknown territories.
I love a bunch of weird curiosities with no idea what to make of it. It's oddly satisfying to construct a good story out of it.

Mission

We live in a world full of stories. Huge amounts are added every minute of every day. Good crafted stories can sometimes turn into insights. Into knowledge. Into understanding the world we live in. And how we can make it slightly better for future generations.

This is why I am a Content Creator.
